Lahore Qalandars will face Islamabad United in season’s nine opener
The Pakistan Super League (PSL) ninth season is scheduled to start at the PCB’s Lahore headquarters on February 17, 2024. The first game will pit Islamabad United, the winners of the 2016 and 2018 championships, against Lahore Qalandars, the current champions and two-time winners.
This elite cricket competition will take place in four cities: Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi. The National Bank Stadium in Karachi will host the final on March 18. Thirty-four Twenty20 matches will comprise the event, which includes six teams.
During the course of the competition, Karachi will host 11 matches, including the Qualifier, two Eliminators, and the final. Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore and Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi will each host nine matches. Multan, known as the city of saints, will witness five matches.
On February 24 and March 9, Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings will play in a much awaited match. The game on February 24 will take place at Gaddafi Stadium, while on March 9, the Qalandars and Kings will play at National Bank Stadium.
Peshawar Zalmi will play four matches at Pindi Cricket Stadium, while teams like Kings, Qalandars, Sultans, and United will play five matches at their respective home grounds. On the other hand, the Quetta Gladiators will play three games in each of Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi. On February 25, they will play one game at Multan Cricket Stadium against the Sultans of the area.
The forthcoming ninth PSL season will take place in two legs, much like the previous one. There will be 14 matches between February 17 and 27 at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore and Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan.
After them, 16 matches between February 28 and March 12 will be played at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi and the National Bank Stadium in Karachi. The playoffs will take place in Karachi to wrap up the competition.
